Terms of Service

Last Updated: March 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Modex, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the service. You must be at least 18 years old to use Modex.

2. Description of Service

Modex is an AI-powered file processing platform. Users upload files — including PDFs, images, audio, and text documents — and describe desired operations in natural language. Our AI engine interprets requests and performs transformations such as compression, format conversion, text extraction, image manipulation, and audio transcription. Maximum file size is 50MB per upload.

3. Beta Access

Modex is currently in beta. Access to the processing interface requires an approved beta signup. Beta access may be revoked at any time and the service may experience downtime or breaking changes without prior notice. Features and capabilities are subject to change during the beta period.

4. Data Ephemerality & Retention

All files, conversations, and processing artifacts are automatically purged from our systems within 24 hours of creation. We do not offer permanent storage. It is your responsibility to download processed files before the retention window expires. We assume no liability for unexported data lost through our automatic purging routines.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to upload illegal, harmful, or copyrighted content you do not have rights to process. You may not attempt to reverse-engineer, overload, or abuse the service. Automated bulk uploads or API scraping without authorization is prohibited.

6. Intellectual Property

You retain all rights to the files you upload and the outputs generated from them. Modex does not claim ownership over user content. The Modex platform, its design, and underlying technology are the intellectual property of Modex.

7. Limitation of Liability

Modex is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. AI-generated operations may occasionally produce inaccurate results. Users must independently verify critical documents, legal contracts, or sensitive data rather than relying solely on automated outputs. Modex shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service.
